Cazenovia CRIS (Community Resources for Independent Seniors) will host Blaine Longnecker, Excellus Medicare Representative, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the CRIS office, 101 Nelson St. (next to McDonald’s on Rt. 20), Cazenovia.
Longnecker will present Medicare 101, a comprehensive explanation of Medicare and the different options available.
Many people will be turning 65 this year and will begin the application process for Medicare. This seminar will help everyone better understand the many aspects of the program, the application process and important dates to be aware of. Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug plans and Medigap plans will be explained.
The seminar has been scheduled for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. because working children of those over 65 may want to better understand the Medicare program their parents are on and be able to ask specific questions.
Longnecker will provide an overview of Medicare including the array of prescription plans available. It is informative and those who are already enrolled may find the up-to-date information helpful.
