Baldwinsville Mark Bader, who served as Baldwinsville varsity baseball coach from 1980 to 2006, will headline the Baldwinsville Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
Bader will be inducted along with Orlando Houghtaling (Class of '53) and Phillip "Bucky" Winters (Class of 1958).
Houghtaling was voted the 1953 Syracuse Sports Writers CNY Baseball Player of the Year and led the team to the 1952 County Championship, throwing two no-hitters and four one-hitters.
Winters shared the B'ville outstanding athlete of the decade for the 1950s and was inducted into the Baldwinsville Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. He led the team to the 1958 County Championship and was an all-league shortstop. He won the B'ville All-Around Athlete Award and played professionally in the Cubs and Washington Senators organizations. He later served as the Marcellus High School baseball coach and the field was recently named in his honor.
The induction ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. June 7 at the Baldwinsville Varsity Baseball Field followed by the sixth Annual Alumni Baseball Game. The public is welcome to attend. In the event of rain, the induction ceremony will be held at Radisson Greens.
