Another perfect run for the Fayetteville-Manlius track and field teams through the CNY Counties League American division is in the books.
The Hornets secured it with Wednesday’s sweep of Corcoran, where it beat the Cougars 93-47 on the boys side and 101-40 on the girls side.
F-M and Corcoran entered the boys meet tied for first in the league with matching 4-0 marks, but the Hornets broke that tie through wins in most of the races, including two each from Nick Ryan and Kyle Barber.
Ryan ran the mile in 4:46.8 and covered 800 meters in exactly two minutes, while Barber took the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.4 seconds and went 1:01.4 for first place in the 400 hurdles.
Elsewhere, Riley Hughes had a solid showing as he won the 3,200-meter run in 10:04.3, with Charlie Beeler tearing through the 400-meter dash in 50.3 seconds. Beeler teamed with Barber, Jake Wittig and Ed Cheatham as F-M, with a time of 3:34.7, completed a relay sweep in the 4×400.
Earlier, Connor Farrell, Andrew Berge and Bryce Millar were part of the Hornets’ win in the 4×800 (9:24.7), followed by a 4×100 final where Wittig, Barber, Parker Noble and Austin Perez beat Corcoran with a time of 44.7 seconds.
The Cougars did win most of the field events, including Charles Stokes going 6 feet 4 inches in the high jump and also winning the discus (122’5 ½”), but the Hornets’ Justin Jones did clear 10 feet for first place in the pole vault.
Over in the girls meet, the Hornets’ depth helped to overcome numerous Corcoran wins in individual events. Savannah Pidkaminy emerged with titles in the pole vault, where she cleared 8 feet, and the discus, where she threw it 85 feet 7 inches.
Olivia Ryan broke the one-minute mark (59.9 seconds) in the 400 sprint, while Katie Brislin took the 800 in 2:37 flat. Jessica Howe was first in the 1,500-meter run (4:59.3) as Isabella Pannozzo went 11:13.3 in the 3,000-meter run.
Christabel Ezidiegwu was first in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.6 seconds as Jenna Farrell beat the field in the 400 hurdles in 1:11.4. Farrell, Maggie Malone, Annika Avery and Michelle Duffy won the 4×800 relay in 11:12.9 as Anna Castro took first in the high jump, clearing 4’6”.
