Brewery will benefit Cazenovia community

To the editor:

I am a close neighbor of the proposed brewery on Route 13. My dog and I walk on the trails at Lorenzo and Fairchild Hill every morning and most afternoons. And while my morning view to the south will be a bit different once the brewery is built and the hops are growing, I am firmly convinced that this change will benefit the Cazenovia community.

This project represents a continuation of the many positive changes that have taken place in our local agricultural and agri-tourism economy over the past 10 years, which now includes the new Owera Vineyard, an expanded Critz Farms, the Golubs’ “Our Farm” and innovative and successful local farms like Meadowood, Greyrock Farm and Meadows Farm.

The brewery will bring visitors to Cazenovia and create good jobs. I have seen Mr. Katleski’s presentations a number of times, and have been at public hearings and followed the planning process closely. The Village Planning Board and the Cazenovia Area Conservation Commission have been doing their jobs, and Mr. Katleski has been quite responsive to suggested site plan changes and improvements.

I believe the vast majority of the community agrees with me that the brewery project is a positive development and fully consistent with the town and village Comprehensive Plan.
