Voters approve B'ville library budget

— The Baldwinsville Public Library's proposed property tax levy of $1,349,810 for fiscal year 2013-14 was approved by voters of the Baldwinsville School District on April 25 by a vote of 235 to 21.

It is estimated that for homes in the school district with $100,000 market value in the towns of Lysander, Van Buren and Clay, the total library tax bill for 2013-14 will be $61.67. This is an anticipated increase of $1.88 per year over last year’s total bill.

Two trustee seats were also voted upon: Barbara Aitken and Edward McManus were re-elected for five-year terms to the seats they currently hold, with 221 and 172 votes, respectively. They were running unopposed.

Joan Ramin and JoAnn Oakes were permanent chairs of the election and Jeanne Comerford and Theresa Gross served as chief election inspectors. The following volunteers staffed the polls: Betty Brainerd, Mary Crego, Barb Darstein, Ann Gates, Jean Hart, Joan Mayer, Diane Murphy, Marilyn Noll, Nancy Polchlopek, Ed Ramin, Elaine Russell and Joyce Zadroga. Paula Hoffman and Denise Agrippino served as alternates.
