Baldwinsville Spring is here (at least officially) but considering the snow we still had on the ground when it arrived it may be a few more weeks before it really feels like it. In the meantime, we have lots of resources to help you plan this year’s garden and yard projects. We also have lots happening over Spring Break Week so mark your calendar.
Our Wired Wednesday session at 1:30 p.m. March 27 is a general introduction for folks using tablet computers including the Kindle Fire and the newer Nooks. Learn how to find books on the library catalog and get them on to your device. The class and the books are free, but registration is required. Sign up on our website or call to reserve a space.
Love to craft, but crave a little company? Drop in and join the group at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, to work on individual knitting, crochet and other craft projects.
Last Thursday Book Club
Explore history and historical fiction from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the last Thursday of every month. This month’s title will be “Dear Miss Breed: True Stories of the Japanese American Incarceration During World War II and a Librarian Who Made a Difference,” a true story about a librarian in the U.S. during World War II. Hearing about the plight of children in the Japanese Internment Camps, she set up a program to send books to the children and encouraged them to write letters. This book includes many of the letters that the children sent her and is described as 'poignant' and 'beautifully written' by reviewers.
