St Peter’s Episcopal Church announces Holy Week and Easter Services

— St Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 10 Mill Street in Cazenovia, welcomes all to worship during Holy Week and Easter. The Maundy Thursday service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 28. The service, celebrating the Lord’s Supper, will include music by the Senior Choir, directed by Thomaidha Tili Trebicka. The choir’s anthem will be Pie Jesu by Alexandre Guilmant, with a baritone solo by Steve Erb. The service will end with the stripping of the altar and the account of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane.

The Good Friday service will take place at noon on March 29, and will include music, with special solo by Philip Eisenman singing “Take My Mother Home” by Hall Johnson. On Holy Saturday (March 30) a service will take place at 9:30 a.m. This very brief service encourages us all to pause and sit in the quiet on the day following Jesus’ death.

On Easter Sunday (March 31) festive services will take place at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Both services will include the adult and youth choirs accompanied by organ, bells and the Syracuse University String Ensemble. Musical selections include “Come Ye Faithful” by R.S. Thatcher. Soprano soloists Jennifer Coppola and Sarah Fellows will sing Arias by Handel.
