McGrath said that the pope sets an example for Catholics around the world through his behavior.
“We look to him for example and in the past day or two we have seen some wonderful examples of his priestliness, his humility and his need to be among the people. I think all those are things we need to take a good look at and try to imitate as best we can in our own personal lives and in the life of this parish,” he said.
St. Mary’s of the Lake is a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Syracuse and has 1,250 households on its registration.
The church is located at 81 Jordan St., Skaneateles, and holds services every Sunday at 8 and 10:15 a.m.
