COLUMN: Library Focus - Check out our Irish celebration this St. Patrick’s Day

— Snow, rain, thaw, ice – it’s the mud season, a great excuse for finding some quality indoor activities and the library has lots of them. Drop in for one of our many computer courses, check out some live entertainment (Irish or otherwise) or join a book group or a craft class. Most of our programs are free and even the ones with a fee are worth the investment.

We have a new display up on our recently refurbished art walls. Find out what is happening in the art classes at Durgee and Ray with an intriguing exhibit of student works in a variety of media.

Friday tech drop in

Bring us your smartphones, ereaders and laptops that you are yearning to use freely but have not quite figured out yet and we will do our best to help set you on the road to mastery from 10 a.m. to noon every Friday morning in the computer classroom.

Increase your flexibility

From 10 to 11:15 a.m. Saturdays in March, Instructor Kim Setla will lead you in yoga in a chair or standing, but never lying down. There is no need to get down to the floor and then back up again, yet you get a thorough workout. There is no charge for these classes, but you need to register. Sign up online at bville.lib.ny.us or call at 635-5631 to reserve a space.

Savvy storage

Build a basket at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, with Sandee of Cherished Baskets. It’s great for stowing and transporting odds and ends – books, toys, games, etc. with convenient “open” handles for easy carrying. There is a $35 materials fee for this project; registration is required.
