LETTER: Re-elect Janice Abdo-Rott

To the editor:

I am writing to voice my support for Janice Abdo-Rott for re-election as Manlius village trustee. I

have read recently in this and other papers, the many letters of others like myself who support her.

The recurring theme of the letters speaks to her collaborative nature, commitment, integrity and

I have worked with her on the parks and recreation advisory board and have seen firsthand the effort she puts into her overall desire to make the village of Manlius a great place to live! I know she has spent countless hours at Parks and Recreation board meetings and events. She has collaborated with the Beautification Committee to enhance the various green spaces in the villages.

I have attended many village board meetings and witnessed how she works to build understanding and consensus among her fellow board members. As a direct result of her efforts, hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants have been secured for various projects to enhance our village. She is fiscally responsible.

Elected officials in neighboring towns and villages are eager to work with her. Village merchants

recognize her as a problem solver and have reached out to her to address issues they face. Volunteers seek her out to assist on projects she is involved with.

When making decisions, she listens to opinions and views of others and considers opposing views. Her highest priority is the betterment of the village.

As her friend I was shocked and outraged by the reprehensible attempts by an unscrupulous opponent to discredit her, her business and her family. Get to know her and you will find she is a person with a high content of character.

On March 19 I urge you to vote for Abdo-Rott for Trustee, Whorrall for Mayor, Pilewski and Noble for trustee and Bill Barrett for justice. Together they will restore the integrity and decency of the village of Manlius.
