— Members of the Cazenovia Rowing Club welcomed close to 40 prospective new rowers to Gypsy Bay Park on Saturday, June 1, as part of national Learn to Row day. Participants hailed from far away as Sweden and Ireland with a healthy representation from Cazenovia and the nearby villages.

During the three-hour workshop, attendees learned the basics of the rowing stroke, terminology utilized while in the boat and moving the boat from land to water, basic safety procedures and, most importantly, everyone spent time in a boat rowing with experienced members of the Cazenovia Rowing Club.

The Novice Masters program began on June 3, but Coach Olivia Bosies is continuing to accept new rowers. The program meets on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. For additional info, visit the club’s website at cazrow.org.
