Village of Skaneateles addresses code violations

In other business:

—The village has tentatively set its move-in date for its new offices on Fennell Street for July 8 and 9. They hope to have the building inspected and have a temporary certificate of occupancy issued by July 1 so that the zoning and code enforcement offices can move in on July 2. In order to be able to move and get their new office set up, the village offices will be closed to the public on July 8 and 9, Hubbard said.

—The village discussed dealing with the faded crosswalk in front of Saint James Episcopal Church on West Genesee Street. Hubbard asked Director of Municipal Operations Bob Lotkowitcz to look into painting temporary lines on the street so that motorists will know to yield to pedestrians there.

The white lines and epoxy surface should have been replaced by the state highway department by now, Hubbard said, but in the meantime something should be done to prevent the location from turning into a safety issue.
