To the editor:
Vicki Reutter, library media specialist at Cazenovia High School, is retiring. If you are currently the parent of a high school student or had a child attend Cazenovia High School since 1978, this news matters.
Throughout the past 35 years, Vicki Reutter taught our children library skills ... and more. She shared her immense knowledge of library technology with our students while instilling in them a love of the traditional book. She created in the library a friendly environment where all teens were welcome and felt comfortable.
Vicki never hesitated to help any student throughout the day with what was needed, whether it be a book recommendation, research guidance or interesting conversation. Most importantly, she treated each and every one of our youth with respect and kindness every day they were in school, resulting in an improved high school experience for many.
I have had the good fortune of working by Vicki’s side for the past 13 years and feel confident in telling the Cazenovia community that we have been lucky to have this gentle, intelligent woman teaching our high school students these past three decades.
Thank you, Vicki Reutter. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
