Thank you for supporting Duck Dash

To the editor:

The Skaneateles Laker Limo, Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Skaneateles YMCA and Community Center would like to thank everyone who participated in the second annual Skaneateles Duck Dash!

This event raised more than $8,000 for the organizing groups plus the following community organizations who helped sell tickets: Skaneateles Historical Society, Sea Scouts, Skaneateles Soccer Boosters, Skaneateles Lightning Swimmers, Lakeshore Baseball, Skaneateles Young Leadership Organization, Skaneateles Library, Sunrise Rotary Club, Center for Children’s Advocacy, Skaneateles Rod and Gun Club and Skaneateles Figure Skating Club.

Thank you John Dudden and Excavation Plus for dumping the 4,000 ducks into the Skaneateles Creek from a front end loader.

Our winning duck was purchased by Amy Kimm, and sold to her by her son Jack Kimm. Amy won $1,000, and Jack won $100 for selling the winning ticket! Other prize winners included: Denise White, Skaneateles Y family membership, Victor Ianno, Downtown Deli BBQ for 25, Collin Bales, Finger Lakes Scuba gift certificate, Mary Alfreds, $250, The Rooney Family, $250, Cally Moriarty, Mid-Lakes Navigation Boat Cruise, Ryan McCrone, $100, Anne O’hara, $100 and Ethan Goldburger, $100. Jim Spane had the last place duck, which won $100. Congratulations to all!
