Reserve spots in Labor Day parade now

To the editor:

The Skaneateles Fire Department Labor Day celebration and parade this year starts on Aug. 31 and continues Sept. 1. The parade starts at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The theme this year is community spirit. Businesses, organizations and youth groups are invited to enter a float. Prizes will be presented to best in class.

This years honoree is the Skaneateles Ecumenical Food Pantry. They serve over 100 families each month and also do holiday distributions. Canned goods and donations will be collected over the weekend and at the parade.

To participate in the parade, please call Paul Jones, parade chair, at 569-8423, or email at jones@mcclurgteam.com.

Please register early to reserve your spot.

This year’s Labor Day celebration concludes with the “SkanRace” Labor Day fireworks display. Thank you for your support and participation.
