New Skaneateles football coach aims to continue recent success

Originally from Marcellus, Olley attended West Virginia Weslyan College and now lives with his family in Syracuse.

Two years ago Olley was an assistant coach at Skaneateles under Tim Green for one season and was also an assistant football coach at Liverpool for eight years, Henniger High School for one year and Mandeville High School in Louisiana for four years. The Skaneateles position will be his first crack at being a head coach for a varsity football team.

The team will start practicing on Aug. 19, though they have already had a few team meetings and done seven-on-seven drills with other schools, Olley said.

The Skaneateles football season will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 when the Lakers will take on the visiting Canastota Red Raiders.
