Swimming Warriors stop Auburn, go to 6-0

Liverpool wins first league title in seven seasons

— Nick Radell scored a win for the Maroons in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:13.77. Mason Tyler also took first for Auburn in the 500 freestyle in 5:32.19.

Ferrell praised his team’s depth in a crucial part of the season. “Most teams are swimming tired at this point of the year,” he said. “To post the kind of times we did at this point in the season is great.”

Liverpool finishes out the season against two OHSL powerhouses. First comes Mexico on Saturday in a showdown between the state’s two best divers, Roche and top-ranked Nick Rodriguez, before finishing out the regular season at Jamesville-DeWitt.

Ferrell was confident in his swimmers’ progression heading into the post-season.

“I like where we’re at right now, but come championship season they are going to be even faster," he said.
