continued Enigk’s background in the restaurant world started at home with his family, but soon he decided to make his own way in the culinary world. The first job Enigk found in a restaurant was as a dishwasher in a Hampton, N.H., Italian restaurant, far from his home in Canastota.
“They hired me to wash dishes, and they had a short staff at the time and they needed me to help them prep. I helped them prep and about a year and a half later I was executive chef of that same place,” Enigk said.
Since then, Enigk has been the head chef and owner of a restaurant and a catering company, all the while mastering the dishes that are now on the menu at B.G. Buda’s.
“I don’t own a walk-in freezer; we use fresh ingredients. Every dish is made to order,” he said. Even the bread and desserts are made right in the kitchen.
Enigk has lofty goals for his restaurant and high expectations for his staff. “I tell my staff that whatever they make, I don’t care what it is, the goal is to have the customer say that it’s the best they have ever had,” Enigk said.
B.G. Buda’s is open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner starting at 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended for weekend dining. The restaurant features a full bar with happy hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m. Contact B.G. Buda’s at 663-1530 or email@example.com.
