Cicero A new legislative session has begun in New York and I am honored to be back to serve as the assemblyman for the 127th district. The electoral process is the cornerstone of our democracy and I thank everyone who participated in the last election. I am driven by a sense of fairness and I believe government can help create a level playing field for everyone.
I promise to make myself accessible to people of the 127th district to help resolve any issues or concerns you may have. My staff and I are available in my district office and will be holding office days in locations throughout the district to assist you in anyway possible. No issue is too small. It’s important your voice is heard in Albany, so I will be hosting several town hall meetings throughout the district both before and after the budget passes to listen to your comments and concerns.
One area I plan to focus on is education. We need to be investing more in early childhood education and improve technical and trade programs. A larger investment in early childhood education will pay dividends to our community and help give students greater success in the future. By improving our technical programs, students will graduate high school with marketable skills that will better prepare them for when they enter the workforce.
Creating business and jobs is another focus of mine. We can do this by investing in an inland port, which will be a cornerstone for the future economy in Central New York. We are working to create the infrastructure needed so that we can increase agricultural exports to the New York metropolitan area and beyond; which will create jobs at home. Once we have this hub operating there is no limit to the types of products we can export, not to mention the number of distribution centers that will locate nearby.
I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and looking forward to the progress we will make by working together.
