— Once Westhill got in front and began that 18-0 run, the Lakers started to force shots, which only led to fast breaks on the other end that the Warriors, especially Ross and Tripodi, converted.

And that run was needed, since Cazenovia would fight back within nine, 45-36, with more than three minutes to play before again going cold, preventing any further erosion of Westhill's advantage.

Overall, Peebles led with 13 points, just ahead of Ross (12 points) as they both gained five steals. and Kelly Mascari offered consistent contributions throughout the night on her way to matching Tripodi's total of nine points, adding nine rebounds.

On the Lakers' side, Maggie Carpenter earned most of her 10 points in the second half, while Kristie Kleine sank a pair of 3-pointers and also finished with 10 points. Taylor Mimms added seven points. The two sides will meet again Feb. 5 on Cazenovia's Senior Night at Buckley Gym.
