Baldwinsville William DeSain, left, plays the part of a Union doctor examining a potential recruit played by Andrew King. With the help of Abraham, Milana and 12 other students, technology teacher Jeffrey Fortais re-created scenes from the Civil War in a recent presentation to all of Baker High School’s U.S. history classes. The presentation focused on the life of the common Union soldier including the average age of the soldiers serving, the types of weapons they carried, the food they ate and the uniforms they wore. Participating students wore authentic reproductions of the clothing worn at the time.
