— Members of the boys and girls lacrosse teams take the plunge into the Seneca River for charity during this year’s Big Chill event in Baldwinsville. In less than one week, the kids raised more than $5,000 to benefit the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce and two local charities, Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY and the Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Pete Fiorini, the boy’s lacrosse coach, and Doug Rowe, the girls lacrosse coach, selected several leaders to run the event for the two teams and both coaches said that both the kids and those who helped organize the effort did a great job. This was the first time the two teams participated in a joint activity together. “These kids raised every nickel and took the plunge for others in need… that shows the kind of kids we have in our community,” the coaches said.
