Microsoft Word Basics 2010

Sign up for an introduction to the most popular word processing software on the market at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 20. This session is for beginners and those flummoxed by the newest update. The course is free but registration is required. Call us or sign up on our online calendar at bville.lib.ny.us.

Genealogy 101 kick off

Louise will take beginners through all you need to know to trace your family tree over the course of five months. This class begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, and on the third Wednesday of each month. You do not need to attend all of the sessions, but they do build on knowledge learned in previous sessions. Free through your library. Whichever option you choose, you need to register online or call us at 635-5631 to reserve a space in these popular free programs.

Midwinter movie madness

At 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, we will be showing “The Odd Life of Timothy Green” and at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, will feature my favorite Disney Princess ever from “Brave.” We’ll wrap up the fun at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, with “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days.”

Valentine hangover Open Mike

Sing songs of love or heartbreak as our long running Open Mike returns at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, for our long running presentation of live, local entertainment. Performer sign up begins at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Backpacking in the Adirondacks with Bill Scott

The Friends of the Library will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, for a brief meeting and a presentation by Bill Scott hardware Engineer at Lockheed Martin in Syracuse, has hiked many places in the Adirondack Region, including a 50-mile loop around Cranberry Lake. Now a part of the CL50 Club, he has also hiked many of New York State's mountains. Come hear him speak about some of his adventures. There is a suggested $1 donation for this program and new friends are always welcome.
