Underage Drinking Initiative leads to three arrests

— Hess Express, 711 S. Main St., North Syracuse

As a result of the initiative the following three subjects were charged with Unlawfully dealing with a child in the first degree (PL 160.20) and Prohibitive sale of alcohol to a person under twenty-one years old (ABC 65-1):

Jesse J. Boland, age 20, of 7568 Totman St., North Syracuse. Boland is employed as a cashier at the Sunshine Mini Mart. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Salina Town Court on Feb. 28.

Elizabeth A. Green, age 27, of 105 Crandon Terrace, Baldwinsville. Green is employed as a bartender at the Cobblestone Ale House. She was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Liverpool Village Court on March 5.

Jonathan M. Vanderberg, age 22, of 1150 Vine Street A2, Liverpool. Vanderberg is employed as a cashier at the Hess Express. He was issued appearance tickets returnable to the North Syracuse Village Court on Feb. 25.

Businesses where a violation takes place are referred to the New York State Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Alcohol consumption by underage consumers has a profound effect on our communities. Teen alcohol consumption is related to traffic accidents, fatalities and crime. The New York State Police would like to thank Onondaga County businesses for their support in preventing underage drinking.
