Bikes also should be a big part of our future. If you live within four or five miles of where you work or go to school you could ride a bike there. Bike culture is definitely growing is this country from what I’ve seen. More and more communities are building bike paths, adding bike lanes to roads and installing bike racks. SU and Syracuse are big supporters of this trend and I hope Skaneateles will be too.
Looking towards the future we, as a society, should be trying to promote small centralized villages, and not those spread out, car-based, suburban ones that have come to compose much of our country. Using cars less will make things easier for everyone, including the environment.
