— A musician himself, Steinberger is also planning to compose the score of the movie with his father, which is something he’s done for short films in the past. He plays guitar and his father plays piano. He also was granted permission from The Scarlet Ending to use the song that inspired the movie in the first place.

Steinberger said that when everything is done and edited just the way he wants, the real work really begins.

“My absolute goal is to get this in theaters, that’d be amazing. If we can get the help that we need just to get that budget, I am going to push it in every possible way- get it to film festivals and in the hands of distributors. I’m not going to stop trying to get this film seen,” he said.

Steinberger’s Kickstarter campaign went live on Feb. 1 and anyone can make a donation through Feb. 28. To make a contribution, visit kickstarter.com/projects/chrissteinberger/iris?
