Members of Baker High School’s Model United Nations Club joined 400 students from more than 25 area schools at the 30th Central New York Model United Nations Conference held at Syracuse University on Jan. 11 and 12.
Baldwinsville Members of Baker High School’s Model United Nations Club joined 400 students from more than 25 area schools at the 30th Central New York Model United Nations Conference held at Syracuse University on Jan. 11 and 12. After weeks of research and preparation, 23 Baker students represented the countries of Malaysia, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Chile and Sweden as well as a non-governmental organization in this simulation of the United Nations. Students debated global issues including the war ethics of drones, the UN’s role in monitoring elections and North Korea’s nuclear program.
