— Many thanks are extended to the eight former Van Buren School gym class “kids” for helping me collect bottles and cans in December. The kids presently are men and women in their 30s, 40s and 50s who helped to collect $550 to benefit the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau.

Thanks are also extended to the Baldwinsville community for contributing their bottles and cans. We will be doing another drive the first Saturday of this coming December.

The Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau provided for the needs of 171 families this holiday season.

John O’Neill is a former PE teacher for Van Buren Elementary.
