Girls Lakers crush field at DiMao Invitational

Caz indoor track scores 168 points; Cudney wins twice

— Milmoe was second in the 600-meter run in 1:50.91, with Gates (1:51.76) and Henderson (1:51.93) third and fourth, respectively. Sarah Haley earned third place in the shot put, heaving it 26 feet 2 ½ inches, while Hannah Dain was fourth (26’3”) in the weight throw.

Cazenovia’s boys indoor track team had a more modest total of 20.5 points in its portion of the DiMao meet, finishing sixth out of 13 sides. Chittenango (18.5 points) tied Central Valley for seventh as Rome Free Academy won with 137.5 points.

Most of the Lakers’ points came in the 4x200 relay, where Cole Willard, Ryan O’Herien, Will Fellows and Alex Devine were second in 1:40.49, behind RFA’s winning time of 1:33.92.

O’Herien would add a fifth-place finish in the weight throw, heaving it 35’8”, while Willard cleared 5’2” and was fourth in the high jump, ahead of teammate Eli LaGorga, who tied for fifth.

Sean Satchwell ran to fifth place in the mile in 4:56.01. Reed Lucas and Sawyer Hunt were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the shot put, just missing out on points. Lucas also was eighth in the weight throwas Teo Lang went 17’1 ¼” for sixth place in the long jump and Casey Fenton was seventh in the triple jump.

For Chittenango, Isaac Czarnecki gained third place in the 600 in 1:34 flat, while teammate Mike Capeling was seventh. Czarnecki added a fourth-place clocking of 2:51.82 in the 1,000 as he, Capeling, Ben Seale and Kenny Galbraith took third in the 4x800 in 9:27.20. The Bears got to fifth (4:08.78), ahead of sixth-place Cazenovia (4:09.85), in the 4x400.
