Cazenovia Cazenovia’s 36th Annual Christmas Walk will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the downtown area this Friday, Dec. 6. Downtown merchants’ shops will be open for business, not-for-profit vendors will line the streets, the Cazenovia Community Band will play along Albany Street throughout the evening and the international gift bringers will circulate the streets spreading good wishes and good cheer.
The official festivities begin at 6 p.m. when the Allure Gems (ages 3 to 6) dance on stage in front of the First Presbyterian Church. At 6:10 p.m. the Cazenovia High School Chamber Choir with gather to sing, followed by a performance of “Carol of the Bells” by Cazenovia High School students at 6:30 p.m.
Cazenovia Mayor Kurt Wheeler and Cazenovia Greater Area Chamber of Commerce President Gene Gissin will light the village Christmas tree and dedicate it to all the service men, women and first responders that may not be able to be with their families during this holiday season.
The entire crowd will then be invited to sing along with Rosemary Langey, the high school choir and the chamber choir to Cazenovia’s own version of “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Shortly after this, everyone on stage will begin singing “Santa’s coming to town.”
The Cazenovia Christmas Walk is sponsored by The Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce and AmeriCU, with special thanks to the Garden Club for the decorations, the village and its crews, the Cazenovia volunteer firemen, the Cazenovia Police Department, all the merchants of Cazenovia, Theresa Campbell and the Cazenovia High School Chamber Choir and Allison Cornue from Allure Fitness & Dance.
