Saying goodebye again

To the editor:

“Where to sit depends on what you’ll see” and Matty Moran saw the whole community embrace his memory for one last memorial celebration of his life on, Saturday, July 12 in the final Matt Moran, “Don’t Quit” golf tournament, a 15 year celebration and memorial for his beautiful life.

Perhaps bittersweet and nostalgic, but the Moran and McNeil families created memorable legacy for their final Matt Moran Golf Outing and Benefit which lasted for 15 years and which became the benchmark for family reunions, college days get-togethers, charitable donations, memorable gold matches and a giant community “get together” in celebration of Matt’s life.

It has been a wonderful tribute and memory bank for a life cut too short and yet in another mode it teaches us to all to make everyday a special one. I wanted to thank the Morans and the McNeills for all of their efforts and hard work in keeping this tournament alive and going so strong into its final year. The turnout was always spectacular and the Mount St. Mary’s alumni of Matt’s College days continued to make their trek to Skaneateles in support of this special event every year.

It has been a wonderful event and memorial for Matt and I know that we were all glad to be a continued part of his life and memory and now we just have to dip into our hearts and minds to relive his memory and the memories he helped create. Thank you Matt and family. It was a great tournament and memory.
