To the editor:
Between noon and 1 p.m., on Monday July 29, I was riding my bicycle between Jordan and State Street, heading east. A distracted driver, I’m assuming, pulled right in front of me to park. I had to slam on my hand brakes and jump off my bike to stop from hitting the car. Had I been going any faster I could not have stopped and would have been thrown onto the car. I got back on my bike and pulled around the car. As I passed the window I did think she would have realized her error and would have apologized to me. No such consideration. She never even looked my way.
Drivers, please watch for bicyclists. Many of us ride, particularly during the summer months.
