Sophistafunk will headline The Blueberry Jam on the main stage at Critz Farms Saturday, Aug. 17
continued That’s all on the main stage, but if that weren’t enough, a second stage will host another genre of music. “Boots n’ Shorts,” a combination of traditional, old-timey bluegrass and new age covers, will perform three sets on the Cidery Stage, one between each break on the Main Stage. A third stage, the Bandstand, will entertain children between 12:30 and 6 p.m.
“Everyone who loves live music, who loves fresh air fun, who loves meeting new and interesting people is invited to The Blueberry Jam,” said Allen. “There’s a cool vibe going all day long. It’s unique not only in the menu of music we’re serving up, but in the very venue itself.”
Visitors can spread out over the 325 acres of Critz farmland. They can take a quick walk across the pumpkin patch to the blueberry fields; explore the sugarbush where maple sap is collected; peek into the orchards to see this year’s apple crop; or just wander through the pines and start dreaming of a white Christmas, Allen said. “The great thing about it is that one need not travel far to support local agri-tourism and have a lot of fun.”
During the fun and events, a full menu of blueberries, blueberry snacks and blueberry beverages, among others, will be on hand. The Harvest Moon Cidery at Critz Farms will be open, selling handcrafted hard ciders made from apples grown and pressed on the farm. Libations from Cazenovia Beverage Trail partners Owera Vineyards and Empire Brewing Company will also be for sale.
This multi-flavored event runs 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.
Tickets for The Blueberry Jam are $15 at the gate; $10 in advance; $3 for kids; and free for children five and under. Advance tickets may be purchased on location at Harvest Moon Cidery or at brownpapertickets.com.
