The “Original” Junk in the Trunk Sale

— Sign up now to secure a spot in the “Original” Lysander Junk in the Trunk sale scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Lysander Town Hall Parking Lot, 8220 Loop Road in Radisson.

Held in coordination with the Radisson garage sales, participating vendors can setup between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m. the morning of the event.

“This is a great spot with easy access and it is visible from Route 31,” said Ann Smiley, director of the Lysander Parks and Recreation Department, which coordinates the event. “Do a little spring cleaning and get rid of all your ‘junk’ by selling it out of your trunk, of your car, of course.”

The trunk sale is open to the first 30 people who are interested and who reserve a spot by paying a small fee of $10 for a 20 X 20 spot and $15 for a 20 X 30 spot. The sale will run rain or shine.

All vendors are responsible for their own table(s), chairs and sale items. Tents, if used, must go up and down in the same day (no stakes allowed). Cars can be left in the spot or moved to the front parking lot.

For more information on available vendor spots, visit townoflysander.org or email recreation@townoflysander.org to obtain a layout. You can also stop by the parks and recreation office. Vendor spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis or until full (there are a total of 30 spots). There will be no onsite registration available and no refunds.

“Last year, we had a great turnout as people came in and out of the Radisson sales and it was a huge success, so you won’t want to miss this opportunity,” Smiley said.

She added that there will be food and beverages available for sale to benefit the Lysander Day Camp, so vendors are not allowed to sell any kind of food or refreshments.

“We will also be selling used books for a donation, so be sure to check that out as well,” Smiley said.
