Baker increases in ranks of most challenging high school

— Baker High School in Baldwinsville has been ranked on The Washington Post’s 2013 list of America’s Most Challenging High Schools.

The school is ranked 108 in New York State and 1,548 out of approximately 22,000 public high schools in the nation. The list is composed of more than 1,900 high schools representing the top nine percent in the United States. The school rose in the rankings from last year by 21 spots in the state and 270 spots in the country.

The newspaper ranked schools using its Challenge Index, which divides the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests a school gave in 2012 by the number of seniors who graduated in May or June 2012.
