Library budget on ballot Thursday

— The Baldwinsville Public Library budget vote and trustee election will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the library, 33 East Genesee St., Baldwinsville. Voters must be 18 years of age or older, be a United States citizen and have lived in the Baldwinsville Central School District for at least 30 days prior to April 25.

Residents of the Baldwinsville Central School District will be asked to approve a $1,349,810 tax levy for the Baldwinsville Public Library for the 2013-14 fiscal year. For a Baldwinsville school district resident owning a home with a market value of $100,000, it is estimated that the total library tax bill will be $61.67 next year. This is an anticipated total increase of $1.88 over last year’s rate.

Brochures with budget details are available at the library, all area banks, Canton Woods Senior Center and the village and town offices.

In addition to the budget vote, Barbara Aitken and Edward McManus are running unopposed for the five-year terms of office for the trustee seats they currently hold.
