continued Trail tales
Preschool-age children, accompanied by an adult, are invited to gather at Beaver Lake Nature Center for the popular Trail Tales program at 1 p.m. Thursdays, April 25, May 9 and 23. A naturalist reads two stories to the children and then leads the group on a hike themed to match the stories. This program is free with admission.
Monday Morning Bird Walks
Monday mornings in April, May and June, visitors at Beaver Lake Nature Center can join an expert birder to search for spring migrants and summer residents. Beginning at 8 a.m., Monday Morning Bird Walks are great for both beginners and advanced birders; $5.
Walk 100 Miles
Beaver Lake Nature Center welcomes visitors to sign up for our popular walking program that rewards the completion of walking 100, 200, 300 or 1,000 miles. This ongoing program helps motivate walkers to get out into the peaceful woods to reach exercise or stress-relief goals. After registering, participants receive a logbook in which to stamp the date after each walk and keep track of mileage covered. There is no time limit, as Walk 100 Miles is an ongoing program. Upon completing a goal, walkers will be rewarded with a commemorative T-shirt, with a different design for each of the four goals. There is a $5 program fee.
Beaver Lake Nature Center is an Onondaga County Park located at 8477 East Mud Lake Road, four miles west of Baldwinsville off Route 370.
