Bill, left, and Lynn, right, Rosentels enjoy the Baldwinsville Rotary Club’s holiday party with two exchange students Lu Zaya (second from left), of Argentina, and Reetta Lindberg, of Finland.
Baldwinsville Bill and Lynn Rosentel have one daughter they raised from birth, plus 10 more “adopted” children. As host parents for the Rotary International Youth Exchange program, they have expanded their family one student at a time.
For almost a decade the Rosentel’s have opened their Radisson home to students from Germany, Thailand, Argentina and many other places around the globe, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Baldwinsville. Each one is an opportunity to learn about another culture, share their family traditions and create life long relationships.
On Tuesday, April 23, the Rosentels, who are also members of the club, will speak about their years of experience as host parents. The club would like to invite the community to join them and learn more about hosting for the foreign exchange program. The evening will likely include many touching stories and many more laughs.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Baldwinsville. Use the entrance on Charlotte Street to get to the kitchen area. Snacks will be provided.
The Rotary Club of Baldwinsville always welcomes guests to their meetings at 7 p.m. every Tuesday and at 12:15 p.m. every Wednesday. Anyone interested in learning more about Rotary is invited to attend a meeting, email the club at firstname.lastname@example.org or find us on Facebook.
