The North Syracuse Family Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in Lonergan Park, 524 South Main St. (behind Stickley furniture), North Syracuse with free entertainment for young and old.
There will be a military presentation by the 174th Honor Guard at noon; Teddy Bear parade for 2- to 6-year-olds at 1:30 p.m.; bounce house, giant slide and obstacle course for kids; caricaturist; small horse rides; child ID safety program; face painters with balloon animals; youth art station; civil war/historical demonstration and reenactment; demonstrations by police, fire and ambulance departments; and bands (Papa Joe, Thunder Canyon, Lori Ann Wilber and the Music Machine) all free. Plenty of free parking with shuttle from the North Syracuse Junior High parking lot is available.
Raffles, food, craft vendors and more will be there for participants to enjoy. Cotton candy, ice cream, beverages, kettle corn, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, pizza, pulled pork, fried dough and much more will be available. Dunk local notables (the mayor, village historian, etc.) for a nominal fee. Craft vendors include Sand Art, SweeTrees, Jan’s Bead and so much more.
