Girls lacrosse Bees back on field, handle Syracuse

B'ville sharp in return to field after 12-day break

— The home team stormed out of the gate in the second half with three goals (from Klaben, Kjerstad and Gebhardt) in five minutes, forcing a running clock with a double digit lead.

Sam Downs pulled one back at 17:41 with a high shot over the shoulder of goalie Nicole Burrows after riding a Bees defender off the right side of the eight-meter arc.

But Abbey Foote reinstated the 10-goal lead less than a minute later on a free position goal. The Bees tallied three more from Pollard, Frink and Stephanie Roberts before the starters were pulled with a 16-3 lead at the 8:20 mark. Nora Cunningham and Downs rounded out the scoring for the visitors.

Frink finished with a game-high six points - two goals and four assists. Pollard added three goals and an assist, and Gebhardt and Kjerstad each tallied twice. The Bees play next at Cicero-North Syracuse on Friday night.
