Wildcats' Graveline gets six goals against Northstars

— Alia Hildebrandt - the hero in last year’s state semifinal against Bay Shore - Elmer and Graveline deflated any momentum C-NS had built with each goal coming two minutes after the last one. Elmer and Graveline rounded out the Wildcats’ scoring with unassisted goals.

C-NS managed just 16 shots on goal for the game. Elmer finished with five points on three goals and two assists. Donahue contributed two goals and two points.

Liverpool was next, and that game followed a similar theme in that the Wildcats’ defense pitched another first-half shutout (its third in a row), though this time it didn’t lead to massive production on the other side.

As a result, WG only took a 4-0 edge to the second half, where it could not maintain the shutout, but more than made up for it as Graveline and Elmer led the push, each of them earning three-goal hat tricks by game’s end.

Hildebrandt, with two goals and one assist, was close behind, while Grace Osterdale, Marissa Hudgins and Cailyn Negus also found the net. Donahue contributed an assist as Francisco, playing the entire game in the net this time around, managed six saves.

WG gets another key early test on Tuesday, visiting Fayetteville-Manlius, before it heads back home next Saturday to face Canandaigua, a game that faces off at 5 p.m.
