— The New York State School Music Association invited the Ray Middle School seventh-grade orchestra to perform at the New York State Capitol in Albany. The orchestra, under the direction of teacher Jennifer Bearup, performed on March 26 in celebration of Music in Our Schools Month, a national month-long celebration of school music established by the National Association for Music Education to highlight the benefits of music education for all students.

“Ray Middle School is honored to have its seventh-grade orchestra selected to perform at our State Capitol,” said Geoffrey Morton, Ray Middle School principal. “This venue provides an excellent opportunity for our students to demonstrate the talents and skills they have been developing this school year under Mrs. Jennifer Bearup’s guidance and instruction.”
