LETTERS: Sale helps support museum

— The annual book sale held at our local Shacksboro Schoolhouse Museum the weekend after Labor Day prompted crowds of local and area readers to respond, and books by the bag-full were toted away for future reading pleasure.

We at McHarrie Legacy would like to thank all of our wonderful members and volunteers who helped make our annual fundraiser a success. We most certainly could not have done this without their support.

We would also like to thank the Baker High School football team for moving boxes and boxes of books from the library to the museum grounds and putting up tables; Bill and Barb Donaghey of The Nantucket Cat for use of their trailer for our special books section; Tops for plastic bag donations; and the Village of Baldwinsville Police and DPW for traffic and patrol help.

Books not sold are being donated to the Jordan Library, VA Hospital, Vera House, Teen Challenge and Ronald McDonald House.

Again, our thanks to all who were involved with this sale. All proceeds support museum exhibits and programs, which keep us in touch with how vital our heritage is.
