Madison County Democrats to host Lamb, elect officers at meeting in Caz

— The Madison County Democratic Committee biennial re-organization meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Crouch House of 5 Ledyard Ave. in Cazenovia.

Congressional candidate Dan Lamb will speak in Cazenovia during the Madison County Democratic Committee biennial re-organization meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 in the Crouch House of 5 Ledyard Ave.

The guest speaker will be Dan Lamb, candidate for the United States House of Representatives in New York’s 22nd Congressional District. All of Madison County is in this new district.

Chair Marianne Simberg recently announced that after the roll call and election of officers, members of the public as well as of the committee will have the opportunity to hear Lamb, who may be new to many in Madison County. Lamb is well-known in the southern part of the new district, having worked for 15 years in Binghamton as an advisor to Congressman Maurice Hinchey.

Lamb is from a military family, and lived in many places before settling near Cortland. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs in Syracuse as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College.

The meeting also will hear updates from Senator David Valesky and Assemblyman Bill Magee. After these presentations and some reorganizational tasks, there will be a workshop on local campaigning with Leo Matzke of Oneida, Kristi Andersen of Cazenovia, Dominick Pangallo of Hamilton and Scott Butler from Senator Valesky’s office.
