Karate after school

Designed for kindergarten through fifth graders, this program will be held from 3:20 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays (Sept. 26 to Nov. 7) at Elden Elementary School. The goal is to teach self-defense, boxing, kickboxing and fitness while incorporating messages in regards to respect, discipline, confidence and goal setting. At the end of the program, students will participate in a graduation ceremony at Impact Martial Arts (80 Smokey Hollow Road) where the students will earn their white belts. Students are encouraged to join us at the dojo once a week to reinforce new skills.

Fall tennis lessons

Tennis lessons for children 5 to 14 years old are held Monday, Friday or Saturdays from Sept. 21 to Nov. 3 at Gold’s gym in Liverpool.

Hoop fitness

Designed for ages 7 and up, this class will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Mondays (Sept. 24, Oct. 15 and Nov. 19) at Elden Elementary. Sweat, smile, and shrink your waistline as you enjoy a childhood pastime! You will have so much fun, you won’t even realize you are working out! You can expect hoop stretching, hoop fitness and learning impressive hoop tricks at every class. Hula hoops will be provided for class work outs.

Beginner guitar lessons

These lessons will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays from Sept. 26 to Nov. 28. Get your guitar out of the closet, blow off the dust and join us for guitar lessons. This class of group lessons will cover basic chording and a variety of strums. We will also learn some solo pieces. Participants must bring their own guitar as this will be a hands-on hour of strumming’. Electric guitars are okay, but with no amp.
