Frank and Veronica Tokarz will be renewing their marriage vows on Monday, Sept. 17, at the 8:15 a.m. Mass, St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles, in preparation for their 75th wedding anniversary the following day. A reception will be held after Mass for anyone wishing to join them.
The Tokarzes were married in St. Mary's Church Skaneateles in 1937. They have lived in Skaneateles all 75 years.
My dad is retired from Nye Weights in Auburn and the Skaneatleles Schools. He has been a volunteer fireman since 1959.
My mom worked at Talbot's 5 and 10 Cent Store, The Krebs Restaurant and was a seamstress for many people in town. She volunteered at the Stella Maris Retreat House and for many years in the Skaneateles Schools, the S.O.S. (Seniors of Skaneateles), and was recently honored for 35 years of volunteer service at R.S.V.P. (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) in Auburn.
Now, they are daily communicants at St. Mary's and enjoy reading, eating with friends at Wednesday luncheons at the Skaneaeles YMCA sponsored by Peace, Inc., and going to Old Timers Luncheons at Retreat House.
