Syracuse Chargers Swim Team to practice at Cazenovia College

— The Cazenovia College Athletic Complex often offers opportunities for the community to use its facilities on a regular basis. Most recently, the Syracuse Chargers Swim Team began practice sessions at Cazenovia’s pool on Monday, Sept. 10.

Registration for the Chargers Swim Team continues thru September, and new members are welcome to join for a free two-week trial. The Chargers’ swim team draws interested swimmers, both girls and boys, from the ages of 4 through 18.

“The head coach for practices at the Cazenovia College Pool is Adam Zaczkowski. Also joining the coaching staff in Cazenovia is Josh Smith, a fourth grade teacher and a former coach of the Cazenovia High School girls swim team. Josh has also coached the Caz Country Club summer team for several years, and has grown that team to a high of 105 members this past summer,” said Lisa Silverman, parent of a current team member. “This is an excellent opportunity for swimmers in the Cazenovia area, including members of the former Cazenovia High School girls swim team, to continue their training and improve their abilities in the sport.”

Other coaches at the Cazenovia College practice sessions will be James Walker and Corey Mosher. Alex Hazard, a Cazenovia College student, will coach again starting in January after the conclusion of his internship on the David Letterman Show.

Practices at Cazenovia College’s pool are Monday through Thursday. The Developmental (younger) Group meets from 6 to 6:55 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; the Blue Group meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; and the Gold Group meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
