LETTERS: Brod family endorses Spires

To the editor:

We strongly encourage support for Levi Spires for the 121st Assembly seat, currently held by 22-year veteran Bill McGee. Levi represents the future in many ways:

1.) He and his young family came here after being discharged from the Air Force — we need to attract many more families like his to this area and stem the outflow of our young adults.

2.) Levi is an accountant and successful small businessman — he understands the burden that New York state puts on small businesses (including farmers) with taxes, mandates and regulations that stifle job growth and limit opportunities.

3.) Levi understands the way technology is shaping our way of life and creating the jobs of the future — check out his website [leviforassembly.levispires.com] and Facebook page (and those of his opponent) to see examples.

4.) Levi is a fiscal conservative — he knows that New York state has spent more than it could or should have for too long and now is the time for tough choices to get our fiscal house in order.

5.) Levi knows there is a potential energy windfall for New York state with natural gas drilling — we trust he will make decisions going forward based on science and fact and not on hype and hysteria.

Check out his website for lots more information on his positions. We have confidence he will represent us well in Albany and be part of the solution to the problems that face our state.

We admire his energy and enthusiasm, and more importantly respect his sense of urgency to act before we find our state in the same situation as Greece, Spain and California.

Honor him with your vote.

Bill and Lisette Brod
