Baldwinsville Every year, the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center conducts a Thanksgiving food drive to provide less fortunate families within the greater Baldwinsville community with complete makings for a Thanksgiving dinner. This year, the BVC will continue the effort, while also reaching out to more community members and businesses to encourage donations.
“We need [the community’s] help to be able to continue a long time Thanksgiving tradition here in our Baldwinsville community,” said Nancy Conley, executive director of the BVC. “Many less fortunate families are not able to afford a real Thanksgiving dinner without this help.”
According to Conley, the BVC was able to provide 70 families with the makings for a complete Thanksgiving dinner thanks to the donations received from churches, schools, businesses, organizations and many individuals.
“The Volunteer Center is so thankful to be a part of this wonderful and giving Baldwinsville community and we are so grateful for all of the support we receive for our Thanksgiving and Christmas Bureau programs,” Conley said.
If you or perhaps together with your friends, family or neighbors, would like to donate a complete dinner, a turkey or any of the food items that go into putting a dinner together, please call the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center at 638-0251 by Nov. 9.
