COLUMN: Library Focus - November lining up to be a busy month

— Hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween and then it’s on to another amazingly busy month here at the library including an absolutely awesome book sale full of books, music and media to tide you over when the weather outside is frightful.

Wired Wednesdays

Visit our interactive calendar at bville.lib.ny.us to sign up for our continuing hands on computer classes. Whether you’re tired of the mall or just looking to save time and money online shopping is a great option. In November we bring back to some of our most popular classes including Teach Yourself Excel at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 7; Basics of Word at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 14; Email Basics at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 21; and just in time for holiday giving Make a Family Calendar at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28.

Tech Help Drop-in

Get a little help with your technological learning curve. Every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, librarians will help you with your laptop, mobile device, ereader or tablet. No registration needed.

November Mystery Readers

The Mystery Readers’ Club meets at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, to discuss “The Innocent Man,” by John Grisham.

Christmas Bureau Sign Up

If your family is in need of assistance for Christmas this year, please register at the library at these times – bring proof of income and address from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 2, or 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3.

Read Me a Tail

Come to the Children’s Desk to sign up your kid for a 15-minute time slot to read to a therapy dog between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 3 and 17.

Pulling Threads

Time to get your woolies in order, crank up your knitting and bind those quilts before you need them. Join the crew from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 7 and 21.
